Eugene Smith and I met at a night spot called The Jarvis House in the early eighties. Eugene was a TO vet having spent years working with Ronnie Hawkins, Snap, Crackle and Pop, Lucifer and his own Eugene Smith and the Warmup Band.
When I heard him sing I knew he was a cut above. The audience loved his singing and songwriting. In time I produced his album “A New Beginning” and the featured track “Rock by Day, Roll by Night” has an excitement that is timeless.
