I remember hearing Long John Baldry’s “It Ain’t Easy” album for the first time in a friends kitchen and thinking “This is some one I want to play with!” Long (John) story short – a decade later I was recording and playing in the Baldry Band.
 
When LJB’s deal with EMI ended I suggested we independently produce new music for John using the Fairlight Computer System and multitrack studio time that I had accumulated through trading session work. Out of those sessions came another Baldry/McDonald duet – “The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore” which was well received at radio.
 
John and I became good friends during that period and over the years continued to write and record together. It was always a pleasure working with Long John Baldry.
